daoist principles in practice
We promote the gentle path of inner refinement through Taiji, Self-refinement & Meditation (an intelligent synthesis of Daoist, Gnostic(Sufi) & Yogic teachings).
Each class includes 10-15 minutes guided meditation.
We aim to guide you step by step on the road to internal refinement.
There is only one true Taiji, one set of principles. Human deviation gave rise to family styles (Yang, Wu, Chen etc) which each has strengths and weaknesses. Their strengths are where they follow the principles and their weaknesses are where they deviate from the principles.
We emphasize the waist movement (twisting wave) of the Chen Style, the advancing (issuing transverse wave) power of the Yang Style, the borrowing of partners force (neutralising vertical pressure wave) of the Wu style. We follow my teachers advice: "Go back to the first principles before the styles diverged."

黄性贤大师 & PatrickAKelly
Patrick has 45yrs experience within the 3 great esoteric streams - Daoist/Buddhist, Gnostic/Sufi & Indian/Himalayan. He guides a gentle path of inner refinement through an intelligent synthesis of Taiji, Self-refinement & Meditation.
Patrick employs modern didactics to present traditional internal training, with refined explanations of inner principles and dynamics. He has a world network of 100 instructors teaching thousands of students. He is the author of 4 books on Taiji and meditation, available in English, Chinese, French, German, Italian.
Patrick began Taiji in 1973 with a student of Master HuangXingxian. In 1977 Patrick moved to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where he studied full time in Master Huang's school. In 1979, following tradition, Master Huang accepted Patrick as his personal disciple - the only non-Chinese to ever enter Huang's inner-school. From that time Patrick travelled and taught beween Asia, Australasia and Europe while continuing to learn personally with Master Huang untill his death late 1992. Simultaneously Patrick worked closely both with the Naqshibandi Gnostic Sage Abdullah Dougan for 14 years until Abdullah's death in 1987 and for 30 years with the Raja Yogi Mounimaharaj of Rajasthan who died in 2007 at more than 105 years old.
At the express wish of his teachers, with the aim of making available the esoteric principles of internal development through the practice of True Taiji, Patrick established a Europe-wide teaching network. This is a loose association of mature intelligent practitioners with no committees, no fees, no rules, no obligations, no school to join and none to leave - people simply practice what is taught with more or less energy and intelligence according to their choice. Within it 100 senior practitioners (21+ years Taiji) along with 150 close practitioners (14 to 20 years Taiji) pass on this system through their fully independent schools.
During his first years teaching in Europe Patrick explained, "There are only two ways not to make progress. Of people who begin Taiji, 90% accumulate some knowledge and skill, but their practice is not intense enough to really change them. Of the 10% who do achieve some inner growth, 90% don't handle their success well. The ego inflates with attachment to accumulated knowledge and skill, blocking further internal growth. This becomes obvious to others but people seldom see it themselves." Further, "If they hoped to be better than they are, they may blame you and leave for another teacher. If they believe they are better than they actually are, they may get upset when corrected, leave, and start teaching as independent teachers, passing on their misunderstanding of the system to others. Not many escape these traps, but if the student's wish to learn deeply is sincere, success is inevitable, pushed by a well-trained teacher and pulled by their own Deep Mind."
Patrick's true contact, external and internal, with the 3 great streams of esoteric teachings - the East Asian, the Indian and the Middle Eastern/European - supports this teaching, which aims to lead people deeply inside themselves towards the one formless Source which has no name. Patrick's experiences within these 3 streams enliven his teaching. This worldwideway might condense to a few words:
"Seek a broad balance of experience in life": harm no one, understand others - change yourself, stay positive in whatever life brings, respect those who give out the teaching, be grateful for the teaching, be humble in the face of the high forces behind the teaching.
"Deepen consciousness": use any helpful exercises or meditations, to build awareness and train intention on the 3 levels of human existence, etheric, astral & celestial (jing, qi & shen).
"Reach out for the Beyond": realise, as the Beyond grows within, that your outer human existence is next to nothing
(25yrs Taiji). Speaks English, Chinese(basic), Spanish, Italian
There are 9 levels of meditation - 3 major levels each with 3 sublevels - corresponding to the 9 energy clouds. Meditation works on the deep structures of the Mind. It is a serious and potentially dangerous exercise. Ideally it should be learnt only from highly experienced teachers with at least 20 years training with their own equally experienced teachers.
But this is not the case for almost all who teach. The world is full of inexperienced people who foolishly play with the spiritual life of others, changing signposts and creating sidepaths, all for the sake of earning money or power. Students are led astray only to waste their time and energy with superficial or imaginary techniques. See this ancient text which makes clear the deception that has taken place by inexperienced teachers throughout the ages.
